One Year
Collaborative Art Installation
Two installations:
The Painted Bride Art Center
January – February, 2013
The Rotunda at the University of Pennsylvania-
September, 2013 (Part the of Philadelphia FringeArts festival)
One Year was a multi-year mentoring and social awareness project in collaboration with Mothers In Charge and five members of MamaCITA. The installations were partially funded by two separate Leeway Foundation Art and Change grants, as well as a Hatchfund (formerly USA Projects) crowd-sourced grant.
One Year was a well-received multi-site, collaborative, art installation exploring public apathy toward rising urban violence. Through the creation of hundreds of sculptural wire vessels– one for each murder in Philadelphia in 2012– One Year examined the numbing of society towards this epidemic.
